Take time to smell flowers on this Rocky Road we travel

Well seems I had to make a tough decision in Life this morning
One that breaks my heart in two!!
I bowed out of the wholesale business for the time being??

I have had a bad week friends!
Yep had another visit to the ER and by the way let me tell you they can sure treat you like dirt!

I do not have insurance, I can't afford insurance right now!
The last visit a few months back I thought I was going to set up payment plans for
Well I was wrong!! Hmmmm...............seems if you can't meet their specs of what they prefer you pay
And due to my neglect of not paying regular to them
They turned it over for collections

Yes when you visit an ER room after they turn you over you are ?? no longer a human being that deserves any compassion for the situation at hand, let alone your health LOL

My condition has worsened and after phone calls to my regular doctor who is an hour away from me
I find out that chances are this is nothing but STRESS related!!
But before any more of those magic pills that make it go away will be prescribed I have to have an MRI done

HA!!!!!!!!!!!

Try that one without insurance and see how much it costs!! And then dig into an empty pocket and see how far you reach LOL

So right now I have bowed out of wholesale, and oh my gosh it breaks my heart bad!!
Because that would of been my option to be able to even pay for this mess!
But because of the stress related to the wholesale business and not having time to breath or rest properly
that was the only choice I could make

so my flowers are not so sweet smelling today??

What happened in life that compassion is not something you find often in the medical field at all

If you are not aware of it........a hospital charges twice as much for a non insured individual then they do if you walk through their door with a plastic card in your hand??

It saddens me at just what this world has come to? My regular doctor even though he is only ONLY an hour away from me which makes it difficult to see him, is a great old fashioned doc that will work with you on billing. Only problem is..........he works for a hospital affiliated with the same hospital I am having financial
problems at...........so his advice to me is to control all stress!!

For those that know me I will still be making and selling items
And heck I have even yes found some POSITIVE in this

I sell items SO CHEAP on wholesale anyway
that I can list them on auction at that price and possibly even get more for them

I can also now concentrate on maybe making some unique things again that should fetch me far more
then wholesale. Not to mention this should free up enough time to list more on my regular selling venue

Darn this may just all around be better for me in the long run.
I may enjoy creating again without the stress come to think of it LOL

Thank you for listening to my rambling today
Hugs to all
Just little ole Aunt B

  1. Hubby called the urgent care walk in when I was sick. They told him you need to pay $80 to walk through the door if you don't have insurance (I don't) you must pay that day. Then every swab, prick or thing they do is extra. She said it would run at least $300 by the time they were done.Just Nuts! Sweetie hope you feel better.I used to do wholesale and although it's steady money it burns you out and you lose your creativity.I'm sure you'll do fine on your other venues.Warm Blessings!~Amy

  2. Hi, Auntie B - this is difficult I know. I've been there. Check with the hospital administration, they have resources to help you get insurance. Also here in Mass. everyone has to be insured (it's a law) so if you don't have coverage thru an employer you go on MassHealth for free. Check with your state or have hubba do it so that you don't get worked up. And also (again I only speak from here) all over the hospitals they have signs advising that you can't be turned away for emergency care because of an inability to pay. There's a lot of effort required to straighten these things out but you can try to find ways to advocate for your health care, just keep working at it and don't get defeated.
    Hugs,
    Susan xoxo

  3. Every state is different. Here in Iowa, you can apply for Iowa Care. If you qualify, they give you a card and put you on a list. I've been on the list for over a year with no appointment yet. Hubby qualifies for Medicare in April. For that I am grateful. His doctor has seen him through 3 years of no insurance and has too much humanity to turn down his patients. He even refills my prescriptions for me while I wait to see another doctor. The doctors covered by Iowa Care are an hour away but it may as well be a million miles cuz I can't get an appointment. Amy is right. You have to have that plastic insurance card before they will even talk to you. When does Obama Care kick in?
I am so sorry you have to give up on seeing a doctor. Maybe this temporary solution will give you some peace. I love to see your creations. Perhaps you could discuss a billing plan with the billing office. I know we have had to do that. They are required to accept whatever you are able to pay and as long as you are making an effort, they can't turn you over to a collection agency. It is a rough go for a lot of us and I for one pray for a return to a sane and sensible, fair economy.
    Love you, Linda

  4. Our free America is not so free, we are controlled by a society that is engulfed in cheating or ripping us off every chance they get. I work to carry health insurance for myself and my husband. For many years we had none as Dick is self employed. When he needed surgery it was money up front for the surgeon's fee and payments made to the hospital. In order to afford the insurance plan my workplace offers I have $5,000 dollar deductible and $10,000 out of pocket,"wow", hope we stay well this year.

Dropping your wholesale business, I think, is a very good choice. Less stress for sure, you can create when you want to... not because you have to. I agree, you will be able to create more valuable items, which in the long run will reap more money and make crafting more interesting as well.

You are a successful businesswoman, slowing down a bit is OK, like I posted, take time to smell the roses.
    Hugs to you Aunt B
